U12, 2022-2023 (Halton Hurricanes AAA)

The U12 AAA Halton Hurricanes travelled to WHitby this past weekend to take part in the Whitby Silver Stick Invitational tournament. 25 of the top teams in ON & the US took part in this event. The Hurricanes found themselves in Group 3 with 3 other teams:  Detroit Little Caesars, Ottawa Jr 67's, Sudbury Nickel City Sons and the Peterborough Petes. Game 1 was a rematch from the semi-finals of the Peterborough tournament and the Hurricanes came out on top again, this time by a 4-1 margin. Goals: Tyler H, Liam K, Evan M, Preston S

The Halton Hurricanes U12 AAA team hosted the Toronto Nationals on Monday @ Sherwood in Exhibition game action. The Hurricanes jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first. In the 2nd period, the Nats responded with 2 goals to tie things up before a Hurricanes goal restored the lead. Halton early in the 3rd to stretch the lead to 4-2 before the Nationals closed out the scoring with 4 minutes to go making the final 4-3.

After a healthy run of 19 games without a loss to begin the season, the U12 AAA Halton Hurricanes suffered defeat on Sunday at the hands of a talented Oakville Rangers team by a 4-2 score.  The club has a busy week with 5 games:Monday vs Toronto Nationals, 7:15pm @ Sherwood Arena; Thursday @ Hamilton Bulldogs, 7:45pm @ Mohawk; Saturday @ Buffalo Regals 12:15pm & 5:15pm; Sunday vs Niagara North Stars, 3:30pm @ Acton Arena

The Halton Hurricanes U12 AAA team finally got to enjoy some home cooking last weekend, as they hosted games on both Saturday and Sunday. The 'Canes just wrapped up a stretch where they had 11 straight games (including the Peterborough tourney win) away from the friendly confines of Sherwood Arena, so the short drive to the rink was appreciated by most. On Saturday, the Burlington Eagles came to town having won only 1 time in their first 7 games. The U12 AAA Halton Hurricanes spent this past weekend in Peterborough, went undefeated in the round robin and then won 3 straight in the playoffs to capture the 2022-2023 Boston Pizza Ice Fest Championship.
