Over the Christmas break, the highly ranked Halton Hurricanes U16 team traveled to Toronto for the Marlies Holiday Classic. The Hurricanes
were outstanding and went undefeated in the round robin.
The U16 team
advanced to the quarter-finals defeating a top 5 team in the USA, Bishop
Kearney 5-1.
The Canes then beat the Mississauga Rebels in the semis
8-2 to advance to the finals against the tourney hosting Toronto
Marlies. In the finals, the U16 Canes looked great in this epic battle,
but came up short against the number 1 ranked Marlies, losing 4-1.
The
tourney outcome and the current first place ranking in the SCTA will
likely put the U16 Hurricanes team in a great position as the team heads
into the final stretch of their season towards an OHL Cup.
