Hurricanes Meet Guelph Post Thanksgiving
Tuesday night, October 11th, 2022, the U11 Halton Hurricanes drove to Guelph for a 7 PM game. Carb loaded from the day before, the team was set to play their first official away game and all 17 players were ready to go!

After jumping into the lead midway through the first period, the team never looked back and scored another two goals in the first, expanded their lead with five more in the second and closed the game with 4 tallies in the final period. The game stayed clean of penalties during the first period, but things got heated as the game progressed with Guelph taking two penalties in the second before the Hurricanes were dinged with four straight in the 3rd. The team played shorthanded at 3-on-5 for about 32 seconds but held their opponents scoreless until returning to even strength thanks to a strong game from the ‘Canes goalie. Guelph’s continued efforts would be rewarded as the team found the sweet spot in front of a busy net and scored their lone goal in the third period.

Final score 12-1.

Total shots on goal: 40 for the Hurricanes and 22 for Guelph.

Looking ahead, the team has a busy week with one more league game on Wednesday versus Hamilton at home before a weekend tournament as the team travels to London for the annual 2022 Drew Doughty Invitational
