Halton Hurricanes AAA

Halton Hurricane U13 battled hard January 10-12 at the Taylor Hall Classic in Kingston bringing home the gold medal by defeating the North Shore 4-3.  Congratulations on winning back to back tournaments!

The U13 Halton Hurricanes travelled to Kitchener Nov 8-10 and won the championship beating North Bay Trappers in the finals 4-2.  

Barrie Colts and former Halton Hurricanes  goaltender Ben Hrebik  has been named the OHL Goaltender of the Month for December. Making 282 saves throughout the month, Hrebik posted a 6-1-0-1 record, a 2.13 goals-against average, .943 save percentage, and a shutout. The 6-foot-3, 199lb. netminder excelled in December, recording 30+ saves in six games, highlighted by a 45-save shutout on December 18 against Owen Sound. Hrebik also earned OHL Goaltender of the Week honours during the month.

Former Halton Hurricanes defenseman Matthew Schaefer is among 25 players selected to represent Canada at the  2025 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship from Dec 26th-Jan 5th in Ottawa.

The U16 Halton Hurricanes travelled to Rochester for the annual USHL American Cup. Game 1 the canes lost to 10th Ranked Seacoast Performance Academy. The canes rallied in game 2 and 3 winning 5-1 and 7-1. Gaining a spot in the semi finals in a goal differential battle between 5 teams. Sunday morning in the semi finals the U16 Canes seeked revenge vs the high powered offense of the 10th ranked Seacoast, pulling out a close 4-3 win. Canes played the Buffalo Jr. Sabres in the finals pulling out a 7-5 win to be crowned Champions. Coach Jake is very proud of his group! Congrats Boys!
