"Canes whitewash Gryphons in season opener
The U11 AAA Halton Hurricanes opened the regular season on the road Tuesday evening with a game against the Guelph Gryphons.
Some quick notes from this one:
- Brayden Park was stellar in net, picking up the shutout
- Callan Cabral got the scoring started in the 2nd with a laser from the point 2 minutes in.
- The 'Canes would score 4 more in the 2nd as Hayden Cochren, Cal Reilly, James Del Duca and Preston Sedlezky all found the back of the net.
- The 'Canes penalty kill was flawless, in killing off all 4 Guelph powerplay chances.
Next up for the 'Canes is a trip into Kitchener this weekend to take part in the Oktoberfest tournament, a 16 team affair featuring some tough opponents.
