Hurricanes win in Oakville
The Novice Halton Hurricanes put an end to a mini 2 game losing streak with a 5-1 win in Oakville against the Rangers on Tuesday night.

The 'Canes struck first in this one as Rory Parker stole the puck at the blue line, shifted past an Oakville defender, broke in alone and roofed a wrist shot to give Halton a 1-0 lead. There was no further scoring in the first, with the Hurricanes holding a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.

Parker notched his 2nd of the game at 1:28 of the 2nd, converting on a setup from Preston Sedlezky to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. Liam Fay picked up an assist on the goal.

The visiting 'Canes outshot the Rangers 5-1 in the 2nd, and held a 10-4 edge overall after 2.

Hudson Day got the Hurricanes going in the 3rd, scoring on a wraparound (unassisted) at 3:13.
Tyler Hickey followed that up with a goal at 7:48 as his shot from the point found the back of the net, stretching the lead to 4-0. James Del Duca and Ethan Gatto drew assists.

The Rangers got on the board at 8:34 of the 3rd, banging one in as time expired on a Hurricanes penalty and narrowing the lead to 4-1 before Parker put a bow on this one, completing his hat-trick at 11:29 by converting a pass from Jake Janjevich. Willie Clahane picked up an assist on Parkers 3rd goal as well.

The 'Canes outshot Oakville 5-4 in the 3rd and 15-9 overall in the 5-1 road victory and with the win their record now stands at 4-2-1 with 1 regular season game to go @ Hamilton on March 4th.

Brayden Park picked up the win in net for Halton.

The Hurricanes will be back on the ice Sunday when they face these same Oakville Rangers in an Exhibition Game on the Sleeman Centre ice in Guelph (Home of the OHL Guelph Storm). Game time is 11:00am (just prior to the Storm game against the Niagara Ice Dogs). Both teams will complete the exhibition game, and will then take in some OHL action.
