North Stars topple 'Canes
On Sunday, the Halton Hurricanes dropped a tight game by a 2-1 score to the visiting Niagara North Stars. The hometown Hurricanes outshot the visitors by a 26-15 mark, and applied some pressure with the net empty in the final minute & a half but could not push the equalizer across.
Anthony Terkalas scored the lone goal for the 'Canes, while Owen John was sharp between the pipes in the loss.
The club has now dropped 2 in a row, both at home and have seen their record slip to 3 wins, 2 losses and a tie on the season.
The 'Canes now sit in 3rd place with 2 regular season games left in the season.
The team will hit the road on Tuesday, travelling south into Oakville to take on the Rangers. Game time is 6:20 @ Joshua's Creek Arena.
Following the game on Sunday, the boys took time to host an event thanking all of the local sponsors who have contributed to what has been a great season thus far. Several sponsors were able to attend the game, and a meet & greet was held @ Sherwood Arena afterwards where sponsors were presented with a customized plaque, game puck and team picture.
