Hurricanes tie Niagara 2-2
The Novice AAA Hurricanes made their way to St. Catharines on Sunday to take on the Niagara North Stars in SCTA action.
Niagara was coming off a 10-2 win in Hamilton with the Hurricanes last action coming in the finals of the Whitby Tournament.
Though the 'Canes never trailed in this contest, they were fortunate to escape the Garden City with 1 point.
Rory Parker put the visitors ahead with a quick goal just 15 seconds into the game with the Stars drawing even just a coupe of minutes later.
Nolan Lillicrap scored for the 'Canes in the middle stanza, with Halton carrying the play outshooting Niagara 11-2.
Niagara responded in the 3rd, outshooting the Hurricanes 9-1 and netting the equalizer on a powerplay with about 4 minutes left in the game.
Brayden Park played another solid game in net for Halton, whose league record now sits at 1-0-1 (3 points).
Parker (from Evan Meehan) and Lillicrap (from Anthony Terkalas and Hayden Cochren) hit the scoresheet for the 'Canes.
Next up for Halton is an exhibition tilt against the Lambeth Lancers this coming Thursday @ Sherwood Arena (6:30 puck drop) with the team taking on the Buffalo Regals in a home & home next Saturday and Sunday.
