'Canes clip Eagles in first full ice action
The Halton Hurricanes Novice AAA team moved to the full-ice portion of their schedule as of January 15th.

On Wednesday, the club hosted an exhibition tilt against the Burlington Eagles at Memorial Arena (home of the Milton Menace).

Colin Mayberry got the Canes going late in the first as his shot from the point snuck through just 8 seconds into a power play. Burlington was able to tie the game just 15 seconds later and the teams went into the 1st intermission knotted at 1's.

James Del Duca gave the Canes a 2-1 lead 7:35 into the 2nd period as he tucked home a goal on a partial breakaway.

Both clubs were unable to find the back of the net in the 3rd, with the game wrapping up a 2-1 W for the home side.

Brayden Park was full marks for the W in net, making several saves with the Canes killing off a 2 man Eagles advantage midway through the 2nd with the game tied 1-1.

The team will open their full-ice regular season tomorrow when they host the Oakville Rangers @ Sherwood Arena, gametime is set for 6:30pm.
